Chess clubs in Wiesbaden 6
Notes on this list
The Hessian state capital has a cluster of clubs of its own. The Wiesbadener Schachverein 1885 plays every Tuesday in its club house by the palace park in Biebrich, trains young players before the adults, fields a team in the Hessenliga and reports on its Schlosspark Open. The TuS Dotzheim chess department meets on Thursdays in the Turnerheim, with a blitz tournament, a rapid tournament and an open club tournament on set Thursdays of the month.
Schachfreunde Stiller Zug, FT Schierstein, TuS Makkabi Wiesbaden and the BKA Wiesbaden chess department appear through their teams in the district leagues of the Rhein-Taunus area, whose match days give the latest dates on their entries; the BKA players meet on Thursday evenings at the Hessian police school and ask guests to bring an identity card. Across the Rhine, the Mainz clubs have a list of their own.
